विश्वास-प्रस्तुतिः
गर्भा वा एत उक्थानां यन्निविदः ।
On the Proper Place of the Nivids in the Three Libations.
The Nivids are the embryos of the Śastras (ukthas).
मूलम्
गर्भा वा एत उक्थानां यन्निविदः ।
विश्वास-प्रस्तुतिः
तद्यत्पुरस्तादुक्थानां प्रातःसवने धीयन्ते तस्मात्पराञ्चो गर्भा धीयन्ते पराञ्चः सम्भवन्ति ।
At the morning libation, they are put before the Śastras (ukthas), because the embryos are lying in the womb with their heads turned downward, and thus they are born (the head coming first out of the womb).
मूलम्
तद्यत्पुरस्तादुक्थानां प्रातःसवने धीयन्ते तस्मात्पराञ्चो गर्भा धीयन्ते पराञ्चः सम्भवन्ति ।
विश्वास-प्रस्तुतिः
यन्मध्यतो मध्यंदिने धीयन्ते तस्मान्मध्ये गर्भा धृताः ।

At the midday libation, the Nivids are put in the midst (of the Śastras). This is done because the embryos have their hold in the middle of the womb.

यदन्ततस्तृतीयसवने धीयन्ते तस्मादमुतो ऽर्वाञ्चो गर्भाः प्रजायन्ते प्रजात्यै ।

At the evening libation, the Nivids are repeated at the end (of the Śastras), because the embryos are coming down from thence (the womb) when they are brought forth.

यदन्ततस्तृतीयसवने धीयन्ते तस्मादमुतो ऽर्वाञ्चो गर्भाः प्रजायन्ते प्रजात्यै ।
विश्वास-प्रस्तुतिः
प्रजायते प्रजया पशुभिर्य एवं वेद ।
