Found, except vs. 1 (in the order 4, 2, 3), in Pāipp. xix. Used by Kāuś. (35. 12) in the rite for securing the fœtus against abortion.

A charm to ensure conception

Translation

1. As this great earth receives the embryo of existences, so let thine
   embryo be maintained, in order to birth after pregnancy.

Notes

The comm. reads anusūtram for ánu sū́tum. The first half-verse has
already occurred, as v. 25. 2 a, b ⌊where the note gives the
parallel passages⌋. The comment to Prāt. ii. 103 notes the
non-lingualization of the s of sū́tum after ánu—which is wholly
superfluous unless it read ánusūtum.

Even as this mighty Earth conceived the germ of all the things that be, So may the germ of life be laid in thee that thou mayst bear a son.

गर्भाधान का उपदेश।

पदार्थान्वयभाषाः - (यथा) जैसे (इयम्) इस (मही) बड़ी (पृथिवी) पृथिवी ने (भूतानाम्) पञ्च महाभूतों के (गर्भम्) गर्भ को (आदधे) यथावत् धारण किया है, (एव) वैसे ही (ते) (गर्भः) गर्भ (सूतुम्) संतान को (अनु) अनुकूलता से (सवितवे) उत्पन्न करने के लिये (ध्रियताम्) स्थिर होवे ॥१॥

भावार्थभाषाः - जैसे पृथिवी बीज को अपने में धारण करके अनुकूल समय पर उत्पन्न करती है, वैसे ही प्रयत्न किया जावे कि संतान गर्भ से पूरे दिनों में उत्पन्न होकर बली और पराक्रमी होवे, ऐसा ही भावार्थ आगे समझो ॥१॥ यह सूक्त स्वामी दयानन्द कृत संस्कारविधि में गर्भाधानप्रकरण में आया है ॥

टिप्पणी: १−(यथा) येन प्रकारेण (इयम्) परिदृश्यमाना (पृथिवी) (मही) विशाला (भूतानाम्) पृथिव्यादिपञ्चभूतानाम् (गर्भम्) अ० ३।१०।१२। स्तुत्यं बालकम् (आदधे) सम्यम् धृतवती (एव) एवम् (ते) तव (ध्रियताम्) गर्भाशये धृतः स्थिरो भवतु (गर्भः) (अनु) आनुकूल्येन (सूतुम्) पः किच्च। उ० १।७१। इति षूङ् प्राणिगर्भविमोचने−तुन् कित्। सूनुं संतानम् (सवितवे) षूङ्−तुमर्थे तवे प्रत्ययः। प्रसवितुं प्रजनयितुम् ॥

Translation

2. As this great earth maintains these forest-trees, so let thine etc.
   etc.

Notes

Ppp. begins yathe ’yam urvī pṛthivī, and reads, in c, d, garbha
anu and suvitave.

Even as this mighty Earth hath borne and bears the stately forest trees, So may the germ of life be borne in thee that thou mayst bear a son.
