The Hindi expression ‘करने नहीं देता’ (and other similar expressions), if translated literally into Sanskrit would be ‘कर्तुं न ददाति’. Medhātithi has used such an expression; ‘चलितुं न ददाति’ (भटकने नहीं देता). Ref.: His commentary on Manusmṛti 7.17
