टीका

4.1.5 आसीनाधिकरणम् Meditation could be pursued, the पूर्वपक्षिन् holds, in any posture such as walking, or standing, etc., and not by sitting alone, as there is no injuction in regard to it. This view is not correct because the श्रुति text - आत्मन् must be realized; and, for that one should pursue वेदान्तिc study, reflection and meditation’ etc. This prescribed meditation requires concentration of thought, and, the latter could be attained only when one meditates in a sitting posture.
