4.1.4 आदित्यादिमत्यधिकरणम्
उद्गीथदृष्टिस्तपने तु नीचे श्रेष्ठं हि कर्मैव फलप्रदत्वात् ।
तन्नैव तस्यापि फलप्रदत्वं तत्पूजनत्वादिति नान्यथा स्यात् ॥ 4 ॥

4.1.4 आदित्यादिमत्यधिकरणम् The prima facie view is : आदित्य who is inferior should be meditated upon as उद्गीथ which is superior, because that which is lower in status must be meditated as higher in status in order that the desired fruits may ensue. This view is not correct, because आदित्य is known to be the giver of fruits when propitiated in sacrifices. Hence उद्गीथ should be viewed as आदित्य.
