02 आत्मत्वोपासनाधिकरणम्

4.1.2 आत्मत्वोपासनाधिकरणम्
स्वस्मात् विभेदेन परो ह्युपास्यः भेदस्य सर्वत्र समर्थितत्वात् ।
नैवाहमित्यात्मतया ह्युपास्यः ‘त्वं वे’ति शब्दाच्च तदात्मतश्च ॥ 2 ॥

4.1.2 आत्मत्वोपासनाधिकरणम् The prima facie view is : Brahman is to be meditated upon as different from the soul since everywhere in the scriptures the soul is spoken of as different from Brahman. This view is not correct. Brahman is to be meditated upon as the self of the soul. This view has the sanction of the scriptural statements such as ‘O Lord! indeed you are me’ and ‘I am you’, ‘He who dwelling within the self, . . . He is the inner controller’ etc. Notes : 1.
