2.4.7 इन्द्रियाधिकरणम्
प्राणाभिधानात् उपकारसाम्यात् ष्येष्ठोऽपि चायं स्फुटमिन्द्रियं स्यात् ।
नैतत् ‘दशे’ति व्यपदेशभावात् प्राणो मनश्चेन्द्रियमित्यतश्च ॥ 41 ॥

2.4.7 इन्द्रियाधिकरणम् It is contended that the vital air प्राण along with sense - organs is denoted by the term प्राण That which is an instrument or that which is helpful to the soul is termed sense - organ. Therefore, प्राण too should be a sense - organ. This is criticized on this authority of the passage इन्द्रियानि दशैकं ca1 which clearly state that there are eleven indriya-s2 only and that vital air can not be a indriya. Notes : 1. BG., XIII.v 2.
