2.4.6 ज्योतिराद्यधिष्ठानाधिकरणम्
वागाद्यधिष्ठानम् इह स्वतः स्यात् जीवेन सार्थं ज्वलनादिकानाम् ।
नैवं परात्मामननात् अमीषां एतत्तु ‘योऽग्नौ’ इति च श्रुतत्वात् ॥ 40 ॥

2.4.6 ज्योतिराद्यधिष्ठानाधिकरणम् The उपनिषदिc text ‘agnir वाक् भूत्वा1 etc., declares that the presiding deities of agni, वाक्, वायु etc., control the sense - organs and the vital air प्राण The बृहदारण्यक text mentions that the individual souls too, control the sense - organs and the vital air2 in the same way. Therefore, it is contended that their control of the senses and vital airs is independent of the Supreme Lord.3 This contention is wrong.
