2.3.5 कर्त्रधिकरणम् The गीता passage नान्यम् गुणेभ्यः कर्तारम् यदा द्रष्टानुपश्यति1 attributes agency to the three गुण-s that constitute the प्रकृति and expressely negates agency to the individual soul. Hence he is not the agent. This is the contention of the साङ्ख्य-s. This view can not hold good as the individual soul has to be accepted as the agent; for, then only the शास्त्र-s which instructs as ‘perform the sacrifice’, ‘meditate'2, etc., will become meaningful and that alone suits all logic.
