टीका

1.4.5 जगद्वाचित्वाधिकरणम् The contention that in the कौषीतकी text (IV.18) ‘He who is the maker of these persons and whose work is this - is alone to be known’, the person referred to is the soul as the latter alone being an agent of actions and the one possessed merits and demerits is known to be an experient is wrong on the ground that the word work - karma stands for the world1. The word प्राण in the text ‘Then he becomes one with this प्राण and the word जीव in the text ‘Thus does the conscious self feed with the other selves'3 stand for Brahman which has प्राण and जीव as its body4. And the text ‘where did this person sleep'5 refers to Brahman in which the soul abides in deep sleep. Notes : 1. kriyata iti व्युत्पत्या jagat वाचित्वात् VD.
