टीका

1.4.1 आनुमानिकाधिकरणम् It is argued that in the कठोपनिषद् (I.iii.11) ‘Beyond the mahat there is the avyakta, beyond the avyakta is the पुरुष Beyond the पुरुष there is nothing, that is the end, that is the supreme goal’ the word avyakta refers to the प्रकृति of the साङ्ख्य system as the principles of mahat, avyakta and पुरुष are mentioned here in the order enumerated in the साङ्ख्य system. This is not the correct position. It is because the text of the कठोपनिषद्1 identifies the soul, body, intellect, mind, senses and their obejcts with the chariot - rider, chariot, charioteer, reins, horses and the place to be reached respectively. Hence the word avyakta signifies the body. The soul who dwells in it is one who desires to attain the Supreme Brahman. Notes : 1. I.iii.3.
