1.2.5 अदृश्यत्वादिगुणकाधिकरणम्
स्थूलत्वदृश्यत्व निषेधनेन सूक्ष्मं त्वदृश्यत्वगुणं प्रधानम् ।
क्षेत्रज्ञ एवाक्षर मित्यसत् स्यात् प्रतिज्ञया तत्परतः परत्वात् ॥ 25 ॥

1.2.5 अदृश्यत्वादिगुणकाधिकरणम् The view that by the negation of qualities such as gross form and perceptibility, the one which is designated as subtle and invisible is प्रधान and, the word अक्षर stands for the soul, is unsound. It is because of the containing a promise statement and the statement that it is higher than the soul which is higher than the inserntient प्रधान Notes : 1. In the मुण्ड् Up (I.i.5 - 6) अथ परा यया तदक्षरमधिगम्यते । यत्तदद्रेश्यमग्राह्यमगोत्रमवर्णमचक्षुश्श्रोत्रंt तदपाणिपादम् नित्यं विभुं सर्वगतं सुसूक्ष्मं तदव्ययं यद् भूतयोनिंt परिपश्यन्ति धीराः । it is said that the imperishable which is known by higher knowledge can not be seen and is subtle. The पूर्वपक्षिन् argues that the imperishable is प्रधान Another text of the same उपनिषद् (II.1.2) दिव्यो ह्यमूर्तः पुरुषः स बाह्याभ्यन्तरो ह्यजः । अप्राणो ह्यमनाःf शुभ्रो ह्यक्षरात् परतः परः । states ‘Higher than the high, Imperishable’. The पूर्वपक्षिन् states that which is the higher than the high is the soul. The सिद्धान्त is : There is the promissory statement ‘by the knowledge of one everything is known’ (मुण्ड्.I.i.3) कस्मिन्नु भगवो विज्ञाते सर्वमिदं विज्ञातं भवतीति । This is not possible in the case of प्रधान for the souls are not possible in the case of प्रधान for the souls are not its products and so from the knowledge of प्रधान there will not ensue the knowledge of souls. Further in the text ‘Higher than the high imperishable’ the imperishable is stated to be higher than the soul which is higher than the insentient प्रधान.
