Indeed there is a good chance the vijayan layer of lankans or their immediate successors had vaiShNava affinities. It is incorporated into the bauddha founding myth and continued at some level down the Christian assault on devInuvara. However, there is debate was to whether vijaya himself was from the Eastern or Western coast of India…
