• रोहिद्वर्णा नाम्नैव। ब्रह्महृदयं = capella = β taurii खलु रोहिणीशकटे (Taurus-मुखम्) वर्तते।
• “prajāpatī rohiņyām agnim asŕjata” इति तैत्तिरीयब्राह्मणे। प्रजापति-रोहिणी-सङ्गमतः कृत्तिकास्व् अग्निर् जात इति कृत्वा तान्त्रिकाग्निमुखे दैवतसङ्गमेनाग्निं जायमानम् भावयन्तीति कस्तूरिरङ्गः।
• प्रजापतिः पुरा मृगशीर्षेण सम्बद्धः, पश्चाद् रोहिण्या, तयोस् सङ्गमतो ऽग्निः कृत्तिकासु जातः - एतद् विषुवस्थानचलन-द्योतकम् भाति।
• प्रजापत्यनुसरणकथा पश्चादुच्यते।
• विषुवदिनम् अत्रावर्तत ३००० BCE इति वर्षे।

• “Interesting both the kR^ittikAH (Pleiades) and Hyades which contains rohiNI are close by open clusters; 1 young, 1 older. "
• मैत्रायणीयसम्प्रदाये - “In some reckonings it holds rohiNI as the nakShatra of soma & narrates how of all the daughters of prajApati soma preferred rohiNI and was afflicted with TB. Hence, the ritual in rohiNI is recommended for TB. It also mentions a certain brAhmaNa-nakShatra for soma at the end of the list in the ritual of the laying of the nakShatra bricks during the somayAga.”
