• Mahābhārata’s Vanaparva mentions a tīrtha dedicated to Varuṇa-deva at the confluence of the Indus and the (Arabian) sea. Manora near karAchi has a varuNa temple. Later developed into jhUlelAl cult.

varuNa’s seat appear to be associated with the Polestar: dhruva, which the 7 he directs are the stars of the Bear. shunaHshepa also says varuNa placed the R^ikSha (bear) in the sky.

aramati as the daughter of varuNa,
even as aramaiti is the daughter of ahura mazda in the iranic world.
Also the dog as the symbol of dharma (mahAbharata) = Iranic daena with dog.
