This version is seen in the R^igveda khila 4.5.1. It may be used for countering kR^ityAs via the procedure recommended by the vidhAna of shaunaka.

tAM brahmaNA .apanirnudmaH pratyak kartAramR^ichChatu //
This version is seen in the paippalAda saMhitA of the atharvaveda and is used in the kR^ityA destroying atharvanic rites and the tantric pratya~NgirA paddhatis.

brahmaNA .apaNirNudmaH pratyak kartAramR^ichChatu //
This version is from the largely lost jalada saMhitA of the atharvaveda and is deployed only in certain tantric paddhatis of praty~NgirA.
It is used in practice with the insertion of bIjas thus:
oM hR^IM yAM kalpayanti no .arayaH krurAM kR^ityAM vadhumiva /
hrAM brahmaNA .apaNirNudmaH pratyak kartAramR^ichChatu hR^IM oM //
yAM kalpayanti vahatau vadhumiva vishvarUpAM hastakR^itAM chikitsvaH /
sArAdetvapa nudAM enAM //
This is the version in the shaunaka saMhitA of the atharvaveda and is in the rites of the vaitana sutra.
The atharvans may also deploy another mighty R^ik from the same sUktaM to slay the sender of spell with two oblations with its recitation.
