Appendix info -

“While [PROMINENT GAUDIYA GURU] sees sri baladeva as externally writing such books to just silence the noise but core sampradaya position is that varNAshramadharma is irrelevant and useless” - R

Correction: Maybe the mainstream gauDIya characterization of chaitanya
as being “a kind of crazy person” in the context of his extreme bhakti (devotion) and his disregard for traditional varNAshrama restrictions is incorrect, especially the latter, given some events narrated in his biography. I apologize for endorsing that.

loka-sangraha- lakShaNa, laxya, ativyApti, avyApti, (neo-)gauDIya errors, svarUpataH tyAga, sAttvika

विस्तारः (द्रष्टुं नोद्यम्)

00:00 - Intro, context (jIvagosvAmi on abandoning nitya-karma https://youtu.be/p8RCWpUrhBs) 03:50 - lakShaNa, Indian cow laxaNa. 06:40 - rAmAnuja’s lakShaNa of loka-sangraha 08:50 - Challenge - show ativyApti or avyApti defects or accept your mistake. 09:50 - Alternate laxaNa 10:15 - Eg. karma and jnAna yoga (bhagavad-gItA) - choice for loka-sangraha by janaka. 14:00 - Eg. prAyashcitta by sharaNAgati vs well-known prAyashcitta-s (vaidikAchAra). 17:50 - Other possible examples 18:45 - Mistakes - No “lokasangraha” by performing forbidden actions. 19:45 - jIva-gosvAmI’s error in saying forbidden action is recommended as lokasangraha 21:40 - Prioritize correctness over pride, be sAttvika. 22:35 - lokasangraha applies to notable people only. A completely forbidden option is no option at all. 24:50 - Apple, orange choice - shot if you take orange. 25:50 - baladeva-vidyAbhUShaNa’s correction by misrepresenting lokasangraha. 27:00 - karma-yoga vs jnAna-yoga example - some people can do jnAna-yoga; else kRShNa wastes time and verse. 29:00 - tIkShNadaMShTra’s misinterpretations of lakShmI-tantra and jayAkhya saMhitA violate lokasangraha specificity. 32:00 - shrAddhAdhikAra akin to lokasangrahAdhikAra 33:25 - svarUpataH tyAga means abandonment of karma itself, not abandonment of “dependence on karma” 34:50 - baladeva vidyAbhUShaNa’s understanding of svarUpataH tyAga matches. 37:10 - Chain of bluffs to hide prior bluffs 38:00 - sAttvika nature - Admit mistakes (I did), move on.

Don’t dare challenge jIva

Don’t spead bogus ideas that Jiva Goswami misread Srimad Bhagavatam. You are just speaking bogus ideas in calling Jiva Goswami that…. Please mind your tongue. – @Dasanudas108das

Just as you are free to spread your ideas, just as jIva was free to spread his, so am I. I gladly say that jIva’s understanding of bhAgavata was - to use your words - bogus (I would more politely say “misunderstanding”).

You would not even stand infront of Jiva Goswami if he were to debate you today…. He was scholar of his time…. – @Dasanudas108das

Yes, he was a scholar of his place and time - This means that jIva was not well educated and raised in a deracinated place reeling under Islamic occupation, while I have the benefit of studying under an unbroken lineage of AchArya-s whom he himself acknowledges, from the land where bhakti was born (as he himself agrees with).

As to whether I could withstand him in debate - you’re welcome to your fantasies, as I am to mine. Some prominent vRndAvan teachers warning their disciples to not talk to Iyengars shows that they’re scared to hold their own.

Learn from our teachers first

It’s told Tad viddhi pranipatena pariprashnena sevaya - You are just speculating on works of great acharyas instead of approaching someone in their lineage to clarify what is the intention behind those words and to whom are they addressed.
– @Dasanudas108das

Even mAyAvAdi-s say the same and cope LOL.
No - “Tad viddhi pranipatena pariprashnena sevaya” does not apply to any lineage, but to sadAchArya-s, whom I did approach in that manner. There is no need to learn under a gauDIya or bauddha or shAnkara or sahajIya guru to correctly understand and criticize their texts.

It’s just shows your lack of knowledge that’s it nothing else. Please mind your tongue and if you don’t understand these works then clarify it from present scholars in the lineage to get proper understanding… – @Dasanudas108das

I understand properly, and it’s not like what your cult projects. It is not for no reason that a prominent bAbAji sidelines baladeva vidyAbhUShaNa.
You’re welcome to challenge and correct my misunderstandings too, though.

Supposed insults

You are just causing yourself and your hearers harm by calling Lord Chaitanya as Mad Man … – @Dasanudas108das

You’re right. I have posted the following in the video description:

Maybe the mainstream gauDIya characterization of chaitanya
as being “a kind of crazy person” in the context of his extreme bhakti (devotion) and his disregard for traditional varNAshrama restrictions is incorrect, especially the latter, given some events narrated in his biography.
I apologize for that.
