एकेनैव हि वाक्येन देशकालन( लान्त?)रादिषु ।
लभ्यमानेऽर्थसंवादे न मृग्यं कारणान्तरम् ॥ २९०४ ॥
तस्माद्दृढं यदुत्पन्नं विज्ञानं न विसंवदेत् ।
देशान्तरादिविज्ञानैः प्रमाणं तदसंशयम् ॥ २९०५ ॥ekenaiva hi vākyena deśakālana( lānta?)rādiṣu |
labhyamāne’rthasaṃvāde na mṛgyaṃ kāraṇāntaram || 2904 ||
tasmāddṛḍhaṃ yadutpannaṃ vijñānaṃ na visaṃvadet |
deśāntarādivijñānaiḥ pramāṇaṃ tadasaṃśayam || 2905 ||“When the cognition brought about by any one sentence is found to be the same at all times and places, and in all men,—then no other basis need be sought for its validity. Thus then, when a firm conviction produced by a sentence is not found to be incompatible with the cognitions appearing at other times and places and in other men,—it is undoubtedly valid.”—(2904-2905)
Kamalaśīla
‘Firm’—free from uncertainty and mistake.
‘Cognitions appearing at other, etc. etc.’—‘ādi’ includes ‘men’ also.—(2904-2905)
