आगमे विश्वासटिप्पन्यः

अथापि कर्णशष्कुल्या तस्यायोगान्न चेन्मतिः ।
कर्णव्योमनिव्योम न संप्राप्त इत्येतन्नु कथं ग(म?)तम् ॥ २५३६ ॥
तस्माच्छ्रोत्रियदृष्टेयं कल्पना निर्निबन्धना ।
विदुषां प्रीतये नेति श्रोत्रियेष्वेव राजते ॥ २५३७ ॥

athāpi karṇaśaṣkulyā tasyāyogānna cenmatiḥ |
karṇavyomanivyoma na saṃprāpta ityetannu kathaṃ ga(ma?)tam || 2536 ||
tasmācchrotriyadṛṣṭeyaṃ kalpanā nirnibandhanā |
viduṣāṃ prītaye neti śrotriyeṣveva rājate || 2537 ||

It might be said that “there is no cognition of the air in question because it is not in contact with the tympanum—but, then, how is it known that it has reached the ākāśa in the ear?—From all this it follows that all this assumption by the Vedic scholar is absolutely baseless; it is not agreeable to the learned, and shines only among Vedic scholars.—(2536-2537)

Kamalaśīla

‘Tasya’—of the Air.

‘Ayogaḥ’—non-contact,—‘with the tympanum’.
