तस्मान्न पदधर्मोऽस्ति विनाशी कश्चिदीदृशः ।
तेन नित्यं पदं सिद्धं वर्णनित्यत्ववादिनाम् ॥ २३०२ ॥

tasmānna padadharmo’sti vināśī kaścidīdṛśaḥ |
tena nityaṃ padaṃ siddhaṃ varṇanityatvavādinām || 2302 ||

“From all this it follows that there is no such property in words as is perishable; consequently it becomes established that the word is eternal, for those who uphold the eternality of letters.”—[Ślokavārtika—eternality of words, 305].—(2302)
