आगमे विश्वासटिप्पन्यः

एवं च प्रतिपत्तव्यं यत्स्वलक्षणगोचराः ।
विकल्पा ध्वनयश्चापि विस्तरेण निराकृताः ॥ १५७४ ॥

evaṃ ca pratipattavyaṃ yatsvalakṣaṇagocarāḥ |
vikalpā dhvanayaścāpi vistareṇa nirākṛtāḥ || 1574 ||

It has to re understood that the idea of conceptual contents and words envisaging specific individualities has been rejected in detail.—(1574).

Kamalaśīla

Question:—“What would be the incongruity if the Word (Name) were applied to the Specific Individuality?”

Answer:—[see verse 1574 above]

In course of our examination of the Denotation of Words, the idea that Words and Conceptual Contents envisage Specific Individualities, has been rejected in detail. Hence what is expressed by the name must be the conceptually imposed thing.—(1574)
