नच निर्विषयं ज्ञानं युष्माभिरनुमन्यते ।
विकल्पितार्थतायां च व्यक्तं निर्विषयं भवेत् ॥ १४४९ ॥naca nirviṣayaṃ jñānaṃ yuṣmābhiranumanyate |
vikalpitārthatāyāṃ ca vyaktaṃ nirviṣayaṃ bhavet || 1449 ||A cognition devoid of objects is not admitted by you; and if the inference had an assumed object, it would clearly be devoid of an object.—(1449)
Kamalaśīla
The following might be urged—“When the Inference was described as based upon Perceived Particulars, it was on the basis of the assumed, not real, sameness.”
