स श्यामस्तस्य पुत्रत्वाद्दृष्टा श्यामा यथेतरे ।
इति त्रिलक्षणो हेतुर्न निश्चित्यै प्रवर्त्तते ॥ १३७० ॥sa śyāmastasya putratvāddṛṣṭā śyāmā yathetare |
iti trilakṣaṇo heturna niścityai pravarttate || 1370 ||“The reasoning in the form—‘he must be bark, because he is the son of so and so,—like other sons of his who are found to be dark’,—contains the ‘three featured’ probans, and yet it cannot lead to any valid definite conclusion.”—(1370)
