आगमे विश्वासटिप्पन्यः

सत्यं लोकानुवृत्त्येदमुक्तं न्यायविदेदृशम् ।
इयानेव हि शब्दोऽस्मिन्व्यवहारपथं गतः ॥ १२२८ ॥

satyaṃ lokānuvṛttyedamuktaṃ nyāyavidedṛśam |
iyāneva hi śabdo’sminvyavahārapathaṃ gataḥ || 1228 ||

It is true that what the professor of the science of reasoning has said is in accordance with the popular idea of things; as it is only on these lines that verbal usage actually proceeds.—(1228)
