Vatsyayana

(2) (4th c.) Writer and commentator in
the Nyaya school, one of the six
schools of traditional Hindu philosophy, which since early in the common
era has been combined with another of
the six schools, the Vaisheshikas.
Vatsyayana is best known for his
commentary on Gautama’s Nyaya
Sutras, themselves the foundational
text for the Nyaya school.
