Sacred site (tirtha) at the headwaters of
the Godavari River, in the Nasik district
of the state of Maharashtra. Trimbak is
famous as the site for Tryambakeshvar,
one of the twelve jyotirlingas, the most
sacred spot for devotees (bhakta) of the
god Shiva.
