There was a Tirupputkuzhi Swamy who was a chaNDa-prachaNDa paNDita - Was presiding over Nyaya sadases in Kashi and Kanchi at 18 years of age. The aged seniors in his own family declined from performing Bharanyasa for him saying they were unqualified. He went and sought Periyandavan thiruvaDi for Bharanyasam. It is said that this was a turning point in Periyandavan’s tenure.
